Hello…

I’m Jyleen, the baker, decorator, and proud owner of A Cup of Flower — where every dessert is made with love, creativity, and just the right amount of R&B in the background.

My baking journey started unexpectedly back in high school during a cooking class. One day, we made cinnamon rolls, and that moment changed everything for me. I remember pulling the warm rolls out of the oven, the sweet aroma filling the room, and feeling a spark I couldn’t ignore. From then on, every time we had a baking assignment, something in me lit up. I was naturally drawn to it — measuring, mixing, decorating — it all came so effortlessly and joyfully. I knew I wanted to become great at this.

The name A Cup of Flower is a playful reflection of who I am. I’ve always loved flowers — their beauty, their ability to brighten any space, their symbolism of growth. At the same time, I adored the idea of playing with the word “flour,” the essential ingredient in so many baked goods. I loved that when you glance at the name quickly, it sounds like flour, but when you look closer, you see flower. It’s a perfect blend of my personality and my passion, and it captures the heart of my bakery’s identity.

My love for baking grew beyond the classroom when I began baking for family, friends, and co-workers. It started small — a cake here, a box of cupcakes there — but the feedback I received was overwhelming. People would rave about how delicious everything was and constantly told me, “You can take this all the way.” Hearing those words over and over planted a seed.

I’ve always loved a good challenge, and baking has a way of pushing me creatively in the best possible ways. Whether it’s a classic recipe or a custom design that’s never been done before, I thrive on bringing someone’s vision to life. But before any flour is sifted or butter is creamed, there’s one non-negotiable: music or a show has to be playing. There’s just something about R&B and a good beat that sets the tone in my kitchen. It’s my happy place.

Eventually, I decided to stop treating baking as “just a hobby” and truly invest in the dream that had been growing inside me since those cinnamon roll days. At 24, I took a leap of faith and turned that dream into reality — launching A Cup of Flower and stepping fully into the role of business owner, creator, and baker. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Today, A Cup of Flower is more than a bakery — it’s a space where creativity and flavor meet. Every cake, cupcake, and dessert is made with intention, care, and the belief that sweets have the power to make people smile. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, surprising someone special, or simply treating yourself, my goal is to craft something that feels just as good as it tastes.

Thank you for supporting my journey and trusting me to be a part of your special moments. I can’t wait to continue growing, baking, and spreading sweetness, one order at a time.
